Could the days of Hoovering be numbered? If a certain entrepreneur has his way, we will be talking of "doing the Dysoning" instead. James Dyson - inventor of the bagless vacuum cleaner and two-drum washing machine - has unveiled his latest attempt to revolutionise the world of housework. It's called "The Ball" and apparently is "more fun to use" than conventional vacuums.

Now, Mr Dyson is clearly an inventor of rare genius, but we suspect that it is beyond even his formidable skills to transform cleaning the living room into a "fun" experience - no matter what name you choose to give it.
