Alan Hansen, 58, has announced he will quit his role as a Match of the Day pundit after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Known for his hatred of bad defending, Hansen said: "I've been in football for 41 years and I'm going out right at the top, just as I did at Liverpool.
"I have worked for a great organisation with wonderful people on the most fantastic programme."
As he leaves Britain's most watched football show after 22 years, here's a selection of the mixed responses from footy fans.
