Be it for reasons of practicality or avant garde fashion gone wrong, the ugly shoe is a constant presence in our lives. New York Magazine has collated a gallery of the worst offenders.
The usual suspects, Crocs and Uggs, are present and correct, but if you thought they were bad, you've clearly never laid eyes on Jean Paul Gaultier's high-heeled flippers or Marc Jacobs' rhinestone buckle monstrosities. And new shoes are not a new invention, either; items in the New York Magazine collection date back to the 16th century.
