Letter: A child's view

Sir: I am 10 years old and I am a part-Asian adopted boy. I had an Asian father and an English mother. I was adopted by English parents, and I have an adopted sister who is part-Asian but looks English.

If I had not been adopted I would have been brought up by my first mother's English family. I am very happy wih my family and have hardly ever been called names at school because I am brown. When this has happened, I have called the children names back and laughed at them.

I think a lot of social workers don't understand adoption very well. They should talk to Asian children like me who are very happy in their English families, instead of reading about adoption in books.
