AMERICAN AND British officials, including Tony Blair, argue that food and medicine are exempt from sanctions against Iraq. According to them, Iraqis should be contented with cheap food and medicine bought with their own money. What about modern health care, good education, decent services, art and literature? Why should British and American students study on computers and Iraqi students have no books? It is ironic that even the Royal Colleges have stopped sending medical journals to Iraq.
