Sir: A recent leading article spoke of a 'haemorrhage of disillusioned doctors' from the NHS, and suggested Virginia Bottomley pay heed. She should also note the large number of medical soaps now being broadcast. There does seem to be a tendency for endangered species to attract media attention. Perhaps it is as an endangered species that the media and the public now perceive doctors.
