IAN HISLOP does know ('Christ the subversive puts an end to mockery', 11 April).

Christ said, in effect, to the chief priests and the Roman governors: 'You cannot put me down because I am the son of your Boss. I outrank you. And what is more, anyone who chooses to follow me outranks you too.' Thus emboldened, people have stood up to many authoritarian governments and powerful religious leaders. Mr Hislop might have been strung up long ago for writing what he does if they had not done so. The puzzle is that Mr Hislop does not know he knows.
