Sir: I am the senior citizen to whom Jasper Rees referred in his television review last Saturday. I would like to point out that far from having nothing better to do in retirement than appear on quiz shows, my wife and I have just returned from a few days in New York, following visits earlier this year to China, Tibet, the Canadian Rockies, Alaska and yes, Mallorca, as well as a driving holiday in France.
