Letter: It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that sting

Sir: With regard to your article on jellyfish, I suffered a nasty sting while swimming off a Greek island recently. Luckily, a Cuban doctor was nearby at the time - his advice was the application of a very hot water compress, renewed frequently.

This acted like magic on the wound, which had begun to hurt and swell alarmingly. So if you must swim in deep water - take a Thermos with you]
