Letter: No reason to pay more for a full pint

Sir: In answer to D. C. Godfrey (Letters, 9 October), what's in a name? If a 'pint' is not a whole pint of liquid, then who cares? I would much prefer to save the suggested 10p extra per pint and, when I have enough, simply buy another. Since I enjoy beer that is both cold and fizzy, I find it a ludicrous idea to wish to change all the pint glasses in the country, which must amount to millions, simply so we can drink a whole pint of liquid.

Please, Mr Godfrey, don't give the breweries an excuse to diddle us again. They don't need excuses from us; the Chancellor provides all they need on Budget day.

Yours faithfully,

PAUL PICKERING
