Sir: As one of the multitude of Mirror journalists recently purged, I was tickled by your report (15 May) that Mirror Group Newspapers' chief executive, David Montgomery, claimed we all 'chose to leave'. Perhaps it was this heady freedom of choice that induced the tears of colleagues one used to meet in the corridor clutching their P45s.
