Sir: In my letter of 15 May responding to criticism from Peter Tatchell, I gave a number of examples of BBC coverage of gay issues.

In one instance, Mr Tatchell was right and I was wrong. TV News commissioned a report on last month's gay rights march in Washington, which was filmed and edited for transmission. It was not broadcast because of priority given to other news events.
