Sir: If I were able to move anywhere in the country, at the drop of a hat; had only one child whose educational needs I had to consider; and financial considerations were of no significance; then, maybe, I would regard your survey of 350 British schools (Parents' Choice) as essential. In reality, I fail to see its value.

It certainly underlines your support for the Government's policy of setting one school against another, which is, in itself, based on a fallacy, in terms of the circumstances and factors that determine parental 'choice' of schools.

Yours faithfully,

ROSEMARY SHALLER
