Letter: Somalis in Tower Hamlets

YOU are right to draw attention to the plight of Somalis in Tower Hamlets ('The East End's forgotten people', 23 August). Historically the Whitechapel area was the heart of the old Somali seafaring community of Britain. Today, this long-established community has been supplemented by thousands of refugees. A donation to help valuable work can be sent to Somali Homeless Project, Pott Street Church, London E2.
