Sir: Your supermarket cashier correspondent who wrote explaining that sticky labels on apples are to enable him to identify and price the type of apple concerned (Letters, 22 July), has confirmed my view that most supermarkets, and indeed all other retail concerns, are run for the benefit and convenience of the staff, not the customer.
