Sir: One law for the soldiers, a different law for others? No. One presumption in favour of those engaged in upholding the law, a different presumption for those deliberately breaking it? Yes. To start doing something which is illegal: criminal. To continue, for a moment too long, something which was initially legal: forgivable. Not to delay, for political reasons, a correct judicial decision: honourable.
