YOUR Valentine's Day editorial ('Age of the mwaah', 14 February) hit the nail on the head. Are we to let Mediterranean customs vulgarise the kiss? Is this what the Maastricht treaty and a European federation would really mean? I hope that all politicians were reading your editorial attentively and that we are still far distant from the day when we see Europe's leaders signing the present version of the treaty and sealing it with a kiss.
