I WAS appalled to read Geoffrey Wheatcroft's article on political corruption in which he alleged that my father, Desmond Donnelly, who was MP for Pembrokeshire from 1950-1970, was being pursued by the fraud squad at the time of his death. There is not and never has been the slightest evidence that my father was in any way dishonest. He believed in the highest standards of honesty for those involved in public life, and died tragically after a long depressive illness.
