l HOW can Paul Kerswill (Letters, 25 June) assert that the glottal stop is not sloppy speech? Try saying "priority" or "get off the water" without pronouncing the T. That's what a glottal stop sounds like. Mr Kerswill works in a university. I wonder what accent he used for his job interview.
