I MUST agree with Annabel Ferriman ('Tall tales and short stories', Review, 22 May) that instead of trying to change the physical shape of a teenager it would be better to build up self-confidence and esteem. This is difficult when in the article Dr David Weeks is described as being 'only 5ft 2ins tall'. 'Only' implies that something is missing, therefore reinforcing the idea that a man of this height is a lesser person. I am a 36-year-old male who also happens to be 5ft 2in tall, but not 'only'. There is more to me than that] Not a bad article considering the writer is only a woman.
