Science coverage in the media is better than it has ever been, and part of the reason is the increasing willingness of research scientists to explain their work to non-scientists. If you want a diversity of voices, then you have to want a diversity of opinion. Is Tudge saying that he, and other science journalists, have an unerring eye for the truth? Would he want to replace the fictitious cabal of scientists with a real cabal of hacks?
