QUESTION Mark Computing provided the pilot software for testing candidates on the theory portion of their driving tests. It is incorrect to state, as Fran Abrams did ("Colleges offer L-drivers lesson on road theory," 30 April), that the system was "dropped because of software problems". On the contrary, those most closely involved were delighted with the initial version. Any reasons for dropping the exam in computerised form - and no alternative has been announced as yet - must be found elsewhere.
