THERE is no question at all of the granting (or the subsequent exercise) of share options having any effect on the profitability of the company or the prices paid by consumers. They merely affect the shareholder base of the business and produce a (mild) dilution of existing shareholder interests. Therefore the only class of person to "suffer" is the shareholders.
