An artist has engraved a miniature of the 70m (230ft) Bayeux Tapestry on to a shallow crystal bowl.

It took Frank Grenier, of Somerset, six months to engrave the 58 panels of the tapestry, which shows events leading up to the Norman conquest of England and culminates in the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The dish will be displayed at Glastonbury Abbey from Friday. Getty images
