Ghostbusters: Paul Feig on how Kate McKinnon's Holtzmann became everyone's new obsession

2016's Ghostbusters are coming home - which is good news in case you've still got a couple of ghosts hanging around your house from Halloween.

Though the reboot of the 1984 comedy classic may have suffered a brutal, misogynistic backlash surrounding its all-female team; there were still plenty of thrills and gags to be found for critics and audiences alike, with the film receiving largely positive reviews and amassing plenty of new fans in its wake.

To celebrate the film's home entertainment release, director Paul Feig took time to help us go behind the scenes on Ghostbusters; revealing exactly what's it like to work with four of the funniest ladies in the business - Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon - especially with McKinnon's unmatched onscreen presence spawning one of the year's most instantly iconic characters in Jillian Holtzmann.

He also revealed the surprising process behind getting Marvel's own Norse God cast as the film's intellectually challenged secretary, Kevin; with Chris Hemsworth actually turning out to be quite the dab hand at improv, coming up with potentially the best joke in the entire film (you know the one, the cat joke).

Ghostbusters: Answer the Call Extended Edition arrives along with 15 minutes of never-before-seen footage; with the Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD versions offering both the extended and theatrical versions of the film alongside plenty of deleted, extended, and alternate scenes.

Plus, five featurettes examine the visual effects, the creation of the film's ghosts, the team's outfits and weaponry, alongside a focus on Kevin himself; don't worry, there are plenty of outtakes and alternate take reels, too.

Ghostbusters is available now on DVD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D, and Blu-Ray.
