James Corden has been photographed looking much older on the set of Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix musical.

The British presenter, known to US audiences for The Late Late Show, stars in The Prom alongside Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman.

Based on the Broadway play of the same name, the film follows a troupe of theatre stars who arrive in a conservative Indiana town in support of a high school girl who wants to take her girlfriend to the prom.

Newcomer Jo Ellen Pellman will play the high-schooler at the heart of the movie.

Corden has donned a wig and prosthetics for the role of Barry Glickman, although it’s believed the scene in question is one in which his character is performing in a play titled Eleanor! The Eleanor Roosevelt Story.

Murphy’s most recent Netflix release was series The Politician, which starred Ben Platt, Zoey Deutch and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Corden will next be seen reprising the role of Smithy in beloved sitcom Gavin and Stacey, which returns for a one-off special on Christmas Day.

He wrote the episode with Ruth Jones, who plays Nessa in the BBC show.

The Prom will be released on Netflix in 2020. Ariana Grande, Keegan-Michael Key and Awkwafina will also star.
