Jurassic World: Dominion is suspending shooting for two weeks over several positive Covid tests.

Director Colin Trevorrow shared the announcement on social media on Wednesday.

“Woke up to the news we had a few positive coronavirus tests on Jurassic World: Dominion,” he tweeted.

“All tested negative shortly after, but due to our safety protocols we’re going to pause for two weeks. Back soon.”

The news came the day after it was announced that the movie, which was originally due to come out on 11 June 2021, will now be released on 10 June 2022.

Trevorrow shared that news on social media too, writing: “For the past three months, I’ve worked with an extraordinary cast and crew on a film we can’t wait to share with the world.

“Even though we'll have to wait a bit longer, it will all be worth it. Let’s stay healthy and take care of each other until then.”

Jurassic World: Dominion is a sequel to the 2018 Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which itself was a sequel to the 2015 Jurassic World.

The movie will feature Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, both stars of the Jurassic World franchise since 2015, as well as Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Mamoudou Athie, and more.

The Twitter account for the Jurassic World franchise said in an update on Wednesday that there had been “a small amount of positive tests for Covid-19” on the production.

“ Even though subsequent tests proved negative this morning, due to our rigid protocols and to ensure that the safety and well-being of our entire cast and crew is paramount at all times, those who initially tested positive are currently self-isolating, as are those who they have come into contact with,” the message adds.

“As a result filming has been temporarily paused and will resume in accordance with established safety guidelines.”
