With production underway on Star Wars: Episode VIII, brace yourselves for many months of fresh rumours (21 months, to be exact). One particular topic that's currently under the most scrutiny is what exactly Rian Johnson's sequel will be called.

Despite its release arriving in December 2017, there are two rumoured titles circulating the internet.

First up is Star Wars: Tale of the Jedi Temple, a title that stemmed from the depths of Reddit. If the source is to be believed, the title will be announced on 4 May (Star Wars' annual 'May the fourth' celebration).

A Croatian fan site claims to have unearthed some scoop on another title, claiming it will be Star Wars: The Order of the Dark Side.

While this one is an improvement on the former, we're keeping our fingers crossed for something a little more unique and a lot cooler, even if the referral to Kylo Ren's faction is making it seem fairly plausible.

So when can we expect an announcement? Going by JJ Abrams' The Force Awakens being confirmed as Episode VII's title in November 2014 - 13 months ahead of its December 2015 release date - it seems Disney will be holding off for another eight months at least.

More than enough time for heaps of other fake titles to trickle through, we're sure.

Episode VIII will reunite the majority of Episode VII's cast alongside additions Benicio del Toro - on villain duties - and Laura Dern in an unknown role. It will be released 15 December 2017.

This Christmas will see the release of first Star Wars spin-off prequel, Rogue One, from director Gareth Edwards.

A bizarre working title for Episode VIII was revealed earlier on this year following an image tweeted by General Leia actress Carrie Fisher.
