Directed by Matt Reeves, the film marks the third film in the rebooted Planet of the Apes Rise of the Planet of the Apes , starring James Franco.
Following the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes , humans and Apes are embroiled in war, Andy Serkis’s leading ape, Caesar, commanding a huge colony of animals.
War for the Planet of the Apes will introduce villain, The Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson, who appears in the trailer. “This is our last stand. And if we lose, it will be a planet of apes,” he says in the trailer, which you can watch above.
