'War is coming'
While video game film adaptions are often halfhearted and terrible, the upcoming Warcraft film looks somewhat different.
With slick CGI and a $100+ million budget, Universal Pictures latest offering seems to be a legitimate attempt at making a good film based on a video game.
Fans are very, very excited. The first teaser trailer dropped on the 3 November, and within 12 hours amassed well over two million views on YouTube. Watch the bombastic 12-seconds below.
No story is given away within the clip, all we get are brief glimpses of men riding eagles, a massive army, and a quick look at an orc.
According to the film’s synopsis, it will focus on the initial conflicts between humans and orcs, taking inspiration from the characters and places featured in the video games.
Based on the Blizzard’s popular Warcraft series, the epic fantasy film has been directed by Duncan Jones - best known for Moon, Source Code and being David Bowie’s son.
Actors attached to the project include Toby Kebbell, Travis Fimmel and Paula Patton.
The full trailer will drop on Friday, 6 November, while the film will open in cinemas 10 June, 2016.
