Letters: Small is beautiful

Sir: Your "50 best ways to save the world" ( The Information, 18 September) omitted by far the most effective one - keep your family small. The creation of every child, however wonderful, over and above that necessary to replace ourselves unfortunately means the creation of a new life-long unit of consumption and associated pollution.
