Eagles have broken up, confirms Don Henley

"I don't think you'll see us performing again"

Eagles co-founder Don Henley has revealed that it is unlikely the rock band will ever perform live again following the death of Glenn Frey.

The musician suggested the news in an interview on BBC Radio 2 stating that his tribute to the late musician at last month's Grammy Awards felt like an "appropriate farewell."

Henley performed Eagles track "Take It Easy" - co-written by Frey - alongside Joe Walsh and Jackson Browne in a moving performance that he told interviewer Simon Mayo almost didn't happen.

Frey passed away at the age of 67 while recovering from surgery earlier this year. His passing led to an outpouring of tributes from figures across the world of music.

It was announced last week that Henley would appear on-stage alongside Carole King at a British Summer Time Hyde Park gig on 3 July which will see her perform her 1971 breakthrough record Tapestry in full.

A 2009 interview with Henley recently resurfaced which saw the singer grow frustrated when a journalist attempted to point out a 'mistake' in the lyrics of classic Eagles track "Hotel California."
