Alex Turner and Miles Kane side project, The Last Shadow Puppets, have announced their new EP, The Dream Synopsis, featuring a newly recorded version of the album track of the same name.

The six-track extended play also includes four covers, “Is This What You Wanted” by Leonard Cohen which the band have released a video for.

All tracks were recorded live in a single day at Future-Past Studios, Hudson NY, with the various covers having been played live during their summer tour.

Despite having played David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream” at Glastonbury Festival and on various other tour dates, the song remains noticeably absent from the EP.

There is currently no word on when the Arctic Monkeys will be working on their new record; they were rumoured to be in the studio earlier this year.

Tracklisting for The Dream Synopsis as follows:

1. Aviation

2. Les Cactus - original by Jacques Dutronc

3. Totally Wired – original by The Fall

4. This Is Your Life – original by Glaxo Babies

5. Is This What You Wanted – original by Leonard Cohen

6. The Dream Synopsis
