The Irish crooner was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2016
The Overtones singer Timmy Matley has died at the age of 36.
Matley was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2016. Details surrounding his death are unclear however it's been reported that he fell from the balcony of a building in London on 9 April.
Tributes to the Irish singer have poured in following the announcement made by Matley's bandmates Mark Franks, Mike Crawshaw, Darren Everest and Lachie Chapman.
“It is with the greatest sadness that we have to announce that our dear friend and brother Timmy has passed away,” they wrote on social media.
The band's press team added: "Singer Timmy Matley died suddenly in London on the 9 April 2018. No further details are currently available. Family and friends are devastated at the news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."
Timmy, who joined five-piece harmony group The Overtones in 2010, had been diagnosed with stage three malignant melanoma a few years back forcing him to pull out of commitments including the stage show That's Entertainment.
They have sold over 500,000 copies of their first album Good Ol' Fashioned Love which was released in 2010.
It’s beyond sad to hear about the death of Timmy Matley. He was an absolute joy to work with over the years. His huge personality and undeniable talent will be massively missed. Sending all my love to his family, all of the @the_overtones lads and their fans too.
