Over 30 years Brit-funkers Incognito have created an irresistible signature sound of chugging Latin grooves, inventive horn-choruses and admittedly rather variable lyrics and vocals.

But coming after the big artistic success of Transatlantic RPM, their last set, with its vocal cameos by Chaka Khan and Leon Ware, Surreal feels like a distinct let-down, a workaday return to funk-ordinaire with so-so singers and no anthem to rival "1975".
