The third disc in ClaudioAbbado's Pergolesi seriesopens with a forthrightcantus firmus from thesopranos of the SwissRadio Chorus. "Confitebortibi, Domine" sees theNeapolitan composer athis brightest, scatteringvoices like sunbeams overanimated, purposefulstrings. This is elegant,ordered music, even in itsviolent verses. Thelimpidity of the StabatMater is echoed in the AmajorSalve Regina, while"Chi non ode" nodstowards Vivaldi. Despitesome threadiness fromthe choir, OrchestraMozart plays sweetly
