A girl's body is possessed by a spirit and her scream rips across the stage. More the stuff of horror films than of religious theatre, but The Dybbuk delves deep into Jewish mysticism to produce a compelling drama. Mark Rosenblatt has an assured touch, endowing the play with an intensity which never tips into melodrama. A superb cast led by a blazing Sally Hawkins. A version of this review appeared in some editions of `The Information' last week
