A Series of Unfortunate Events to end with season 3

Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events will come to its electrifying end with season 3.

Not that this will mark any kind of an untimely death for the series, as star Neil Patrick Harris (who plays then nefarious Count Olaf) confirmed to TVGuide: "We're three seasons all in. We've intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books."

"We've added a few characters that aren't in the books, we've added some songs that you probably couldn't put into the books, but for the most part we're sticking to the structure of what already worked."

The first season adapted books The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, and The Miserable Mill, part of the series penned by Lemony Snicket (in reality, Daniel Handler), which follows the misadventures of the three Baudelaire orphans: Violet, Klaus, and Sunny.

The trailer for season 2 suggests this season will tackle The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, and The Vile Village, while promotional imagery hints at The Hostile Hospital. That would then suggest the final series will cover The Carnivorous Carnival, The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and The End.

Which is good news for anyone hoping Netflix would actually commit to wrapping up this story - unlike a certain film studio.
