Amber Riley performs Naya Rivera tribute on Jimmy Kimmel

Amber Riley has performed an emotional tribute to her late Glee co-star Naya Rivera.

The actor and singer appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday (27 August) to sing her new song in honour of her friend and co-star, who died last month.

Standing in front of images of Rivera and broadcast in black and white, Riley sang her new song “A Moment” as a tribute to the late actor.

“I’m ready to fight, I’m ready to see what’s on the other side. I’m ready to cry and just let it be,” Riley sang.

The performance was part of an episode guest-hosted by comedian Lil Rel Howery, who introduced Riley and the song. “We both lost an amazing friend in a tragic accident and we both will miss her forever,” he said.

Riley and Rivera starred together in the hit Fox show Glee as Mercedes Jones and Santana Lopez respectively.

In a post shared to Instagram, Riley announced the forthcoming performance by sharing a photo and the tribute information.

Fellow Glee co-star Kevin McHale, who played Artie Abrams, also shared the news on Twitter in a post which read: “Our queen is singing for our other queen. Thankful for @MsAmberPRiley always. She’s the strongest. Can’t wait to watch.”
