Dr Hilary warns protestors breaking lockdown rules that America is "heading for catastrophe"

Good Morning Britain’s Dr Hilary warns those breaking coronavirus lockdown rules in the US that their country is “heading for catastrophe”.

A number of people in America have been protesting against the White House's instructions to stay inside in order to slow the spread of Covid-19.

The states which have seen protests include Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Utah and Virginia.

“[British people] are adhering to the guidance of lockdown, but [America] are saying, ‘No, I’m a free person.’ I think they’re heading for catastrophe, I really do,” the GP said.

Piers Morgan agreed, adding: “Many of the governors, they’re all saying, ‘no, we’re all about freedom, liberty and constitution’, to me it’s a strange way of looking at it.”

In response, Dr Hilary replied: “I know a lot of people are saying, “Do you want your freedom or Covid-19? Because you’re going to end up with both.”

In a statement to Fox News, Meshawn Maddock, organiser of the Michigan group said: ‘Quarantine is when you restrict movement of sick people. Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of healthy people”.

President Donald Trump appeared to echo Maddock’s view, calling on three democrat states Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia to “liberate” themselves from the lockdown measure in place there.

Morgan recently branded the president “utterly ridiculous” for his actions during the pandemic. “You know what, Mr President? Please stop this nonsense,” he demanded.

“I don’t want to hear that you’re a ratings hit”, the presenter continued. “The reason you’re a ratings hit with your coronavirus briefings, is because people are terrified because of the death count and infection rates are going through the roof in your country.”
