Katherine Ryan offers typically blunt retort to body-shaming trolls on Instagram
‘You’re bad at this,’ actor and comedian told one follower
Katherine Ryan has shut down Instagram users who criticised her for “going too far with plastic surgery”.
The star of The Duchess received a message from a follower that said: “Hi Katherine, I think you are absolutely fab, but I feel you have gone to far [sic] with the plastic surgery.”
Replying to the comment, Ryan wrote: “Hi Clare, I got breast implants in 2004 and nothing else. Suck my d*** b****. Have a great day! X”
The abuse, which Ryan shared on her Instagram story, continued when another follower added: “And a nose job lol.”
Ryan replied: “Gemma I would honestly say if I did. You’re bad at this.”

Last year, Ryan revealed how she was attacked by “other feminists” online after an incident involving rapper Slowthai at the NME Awards.
Ryan – who was hosting the ceremony – gave Slowthai the award for Hero of the Year. The artist then made a series of lewd comments towards the star, pawing at her and insisting she smell his cologne. He later apologised.
After the show, Ryan tweeted that Slowthai “didn’t make me uncomfortable” and said she faced her own backlash for refusing to condemn his behaviour. She was also accused of normalising sexual harassment.
The Duchess is available to watch on Netflix now.
