The Masked Singer star John Thomson has described performing in the Bush Baby suit as being like “hell”.

Thomson, an actor and comedian, was eliminated from the hit ITV reality series at the end of last week’s episode (23 January).

Speaking to PA, Thomson said that wearing the suit was “awful, just hell, hell on Earth”.

“The only fun part is working out where everything is,” he added. “As an actor I found the whole thing fascinating to do. Because your face is your tool, really.”

“There were parts of it I loved but the heat wasn't something I loved at all.”

In the series, 12 celebrities must compete in a singing competition while wearing elaborate costumes which conceal their identities. When one is eliminated from the show, their mask is then removed.

At the end of last week’s episode, Thomson was one of two contestants to be facing elimination after failing to receive enough votes.

The judges opted to keep fellow contestant Dragon in the running, however, meaning that Thomson’s identity was revealed to the public.

In a rare circumstance for the programme, none of the judges had correctly guessed Thomson’s identity at any point during the series.

You can find a list of bookmaker’s odds for the remaining candidates’ identities here.
