Comedy actress Miranda Hart seems to be going on a new year health kick - and then undoing it with a cheeky tipple.

The Call The Midwife star is encouraged to try some "sip-ups" during a recording of one of the shows for Channel 4's Mash Up on Friday as she replaces Alan Carr as host of Chatty Man.

Hart tries some stomach crunches then enjoys a quick reward between each sit-up as she grabs a slurp of booze.

Carr is one of the guests on the show as she becomes the presenter but he cannot resist taking control and encouraging her in the stunt.

The Mash Up sees a range of the station's presenters handing over duties to celebrity stand-ins for the night.

Carr is to host a special edition of The Million Pound Drop which will see ITV's Loose Women star Denise Welch, Sherrie Hewson, Lisa Maxwell and Jane McDonald competing, as well Richard Bacon and Alexander Armstrong, aiming to win £1 million for their charities.

In a series of sketches during the night Carr will be seen trying to raise the prize money when he loses the cash before the show begins.

The Mash Up evening will also feature a Come Dine With Me special featuring an array of comedians as Angelos Epithemiou, Olivia Lee, Pete Firman and Stan Boardman take on the dinner party challenge.
