Piers Morgan mocks Brooklyn Beckham’s ‘creepy’ tattoo tribute to fiancé

Piers Morgan branded Brooklyn Beckham’s new tattoo “creepy and weird” in a segment on the latest episode of Good Morning Britain.

The TV host, who has engaged in a long-running feud with the Beckham family over the years, was apparently not impressed by Brooklyn’s tattoo tribute to his fiancée, actor Nicola Peltz.

The tattoo is of a letter to Brooklyn from Peltz, and is placed below a previous tattoo of her eyes on the back of Brooklyn’s neck. Brooklyn unveiled a photo of the tattoo on Instagram last week.

Morgan, who described the 21-year-old as “a famous child”, commented: “It’s his fifth permanent tribute he’s made to his American actress fiancée Nicola Peltz. It shows her eyes and a load of guff he’s written.”

Morgan’s co-presenter Susanna Reid corrected him to say that Peltz was the one who’d written the poem, but he was undeterred in his criticism.

“Imagine if they break up, he’d have to get someone else’s eyes,” he said. “There’ll be a lot of eyes on that back by the time he’s older.”

Asked by Reid if he had any tattoos himself, Morgan responded: “No, I just don’t get tattoos. If God wanted you to have tattoos he’d have given you them… David Beckham is just a tattoo now isn’t he. He’s just one big great tattoo and now his kids are doing it.”

He said the idea of a person tattooing the likeness of their partner’s eyes on their body was “creepy and weird”.

“It’s not romantic,” he said. “It’s the weirdest, oddest, cringe thing you’ll see. Just extraordinary.”

Peltz’s note reads: “My forever boy, read this anytime you feel anxious. I want you to know how deeply loved you are. You have the kindest heart I’ve ever met and hope I never go a day without your love. I think you are so incredible.”

After Brooklyn unveiled the tattoo, some people on social media joked about how he planned on being able to read the poem from the back of his neck.

Others said that Brooklyn’s hairline made the back of his neck look like Princess Diana, while others argued it better resembled Liza Minnelli.

He and Peltz announced their engagement in July last year, after eight months of dating.

Peltz, 26, is best-known for starring in the 2010 film The Last Airbender, and for her role as Tessa Yeager in 2014 blockbuster Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Brooklyn is an aspiring photographer and published his debut book of photographs, titled what i see, in 2017.

The photographs were largely panned by art critics. However, publisher Random House defended the book, saying it was aimed towards Brooklyn’s largely teenage fanbase.
