Rick and Morty: The Other Five - trailer

The next batch of Rick and Morty episodes have finally been given a release date – and a new trailer.

The hugely popular Adult Swim cartoon, created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, has not broadcast a new episode since December 2019, when it finished the first half of its fourth season.

Rick and Morty will return in the US on 3 May, with a UK air date expected to follow shortly after.

Back in November, the first five episodes of season four were released two months earlier than scheduled in the UK following an outcry from fans - meaning the wait for episodes to cross the Atlantic was just a matter of days.

Rick and Morty follows the adventures of obnoxiously intelligent scientist Rick Sanchez and his meek, croaky-voiced grandson Morty.

In the UK, Rick and Morty premieres on Channel 4, while previous seasons are available to watch on Netflix.

While fans of the series had been growing impatient with the lack of news around Rick and Morty‘s release date, the show’s creators have been releasing some short original content set in the show’s multiverse – including this Japanese-influenced samurai skit.
