Stranger Things season 3: Netflix releases final trailer showing return of old enemy
Third series launches on 4 July
Netflix has unveiled the final trailer for Stranger Things season 3 (at 7.11am Pacific time, it has been noted by hardcore fans), which reveals the new (or maybe old) threat the characters will face.
That’s right, it looks as though the Mind Flayer is back in Hawkins, Indiana, apparently more determined than ever to “end everyone”.
“It doesn’t make sense,” a confused Eleven says. “I closed the gate.”
“What if he never left?” Mike answers. “What if we locked him out here with us? He wanted to attach himself to someone again. A new host.”

Show all 10In the trailer, the Mind Flayer addresses the band of heroes: Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas and Max, telling them of his plan to destroy them and their families. It looks like his new victim is Max’s older brother Billy, who is shown with his pupils darkening in one particularly ominous clip.
"I need you to trust me," Eleven tells Mike in the midst of the chaos, mirroring the words he said to her back in the first series.
The previous trailer was released with the intention of setting up the Eighties era in which the new season is set, with a brand new shopping mall that looks likely to be one of the main settings.
Season 3 of Stranger Things premieres on Netflix on 4 July.
