BBC Breakfast host Susanna Reid is stepping out in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, according to reports.

The presenter, who currently commutes between London and Salford for her duties on the early morning show, will have to find time to fit rehearsals in around her early starts.

Reid, who lives with her charity director partner and three children in Lambeth, is a marathon runner and has already appeared on a Children in Need Strictly special in 2011.

She hinted last October she would like to do Strictly Come Dancing if given the chance.

She said: "I did the Children In Need one with Robin Windsor as my professional dance partner. Bull Turnbull has done the full one and if I had the opportunity to dance with Robin again I would not say no."

DJ and TV presenter Vanessa Feltz was officially confirmed as the first contestant on this year's show yesterday.

Other names rumoured to be in talks to battle it out for the glitterball trophy on the show include rugby player Ben Cohen, designer Julien Macdonald, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, model Abbey Clancy and Hairy Bikers cook Dave Myers.
