The Handmaid's Tale: Season 3 Trailer

The first trailer for The Handmaid's Tale season three has been released.

Elisabeth Moss returns as Offred for new episodes and it seems that, after the events of season two, she'll be wielding more power than ever before.

The trailer teases a glimmer of hope for the handmaids as the power structure of Gilead is revealed to be dented from within. Bradley Whitford is back as Commander Joseph Lawrence and seems to have taken Offred into his care.

When merged with the fact that Serena Joy Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski) now appears to be fighting for good, the handmaids seem to stand a better chance of escape than ever before.

"As Mrs Waterford, you have influence," Offred tells her former captor. "Up to a point," she responds." Offred's reply? "Then move that point."

Returning cast members include Samira Wiley, Joseph Fiennes, Max Minghella, OT Fagbenle and Ann Dowd whose fearsome Aunt Lydia is shown alive after her fall in the season two finale.

The Handmaid's Tale returns in the US on 5 June and will be shown on Channel 4 in the UK. An air date is yet to be announced.
