Dead Static Drive - teaser trailer

A new game is coming to Xbox One and PC this February that has been described as "Grand Theft Auto meets Lovecraft".

Dead Static Drive will mix elements of driving gameplay with cosmic horror, as you play as a traveller who must navigate an apocalyptic environment.

Its tagline reads: “Grab your bat, steal a car, and take your chances against the unearthly horrors found along Route 666. Your family needs you alive.”

Australian company Fanclub are developing the game, which has already generated a lot of positive buzz online.

Game developer Mike Blackney has described it as “Grand Theft Cthulhu”, a nod to the hideous beast imagined by science fiction writer HP Lovecraft.

In Lovecraft’s short story “The Call of Cthulhu”, Chtulhu is a cosmic entity that resembles a mix between an octopus, a dragon and a human.

Dead Static Drive was due to be released this February, although no date has been confirmed.
