'Try again in a while'

Xbox Live has broken again, after a major outage that stopped consoles working around the world.

It comes just days after the worldwide issues, which left gamers staring at black consoles rather than being able to get online.

Given many of the Xbox One's features require an internet connection and a Live subscription, the outage means that consoles are largely unusable until they come back online again.

Thousands of people around the world are being hit by the latest problem, according to Down Detector. Problems were particularly focused in the UK, the site said, though that might be because most players are online there.

"Try again in a while," the error message reads. "We can't sign you in.

"Try again in a few minutes or check service status in Xbox Assist," it continues, before showing a long code of letters and numbers.

Xbox's status page showed "limited" service and said there were problems with signing in.

"Our engineers and developers are actively continuing to work to resolve the issue causing some members to have problems signing in to Xbox Live," the message reads. "Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience."
